WHEN TO REPLACE YOUR WATER HEATER

Regular maintenance will extend the life of your water heater, but if your water heater is more than 10 years old, leaking or not heating up you may need to replace it.

Most people are unaware of when their water heater is about to fail, but if you are mindful of certain indicators, you will avoid the potential damages and disruptions of a failing unit.

Aside from the age of the water heater, you should also look for rusty water, moisture or water around the water heater that may be caused from small leaks or fractures in the tank, or listening for any rumbling noises as the unit heats the water.
