Have you heard about Split Ductless Air Conditioning systems? They will cool (and heat) problem areas and areas where conventional ducted A/C systems fail. Ductless air conditioners are comprised of an indoor and outdoor unit, which allows for a quiet inside environment because louder components like compressors and motors are installed outdoors.
Split Ductless Air Conditioning systems cool air without ductwork and are also extremely efficient. By mounting the cooling section compactly on the wall near the ceiling, allows the unit to remove heat more efficiently and deliver cooling directly to the space where you need it. Automatic swing louvers and multiple fan speeds allow you to control the amount and direction of the airflow to maximize comfort. Call Stashluk at 908-277-6200 to find out if a Split Ductless System is right for your home.

Mind Your P’s, Q’s and IAQ’s
Indoor Air Quality, or IAQ, refers to the air quality within and around buildings especially as it relates to personal health. Sometimes, air within homes and buildings can be more polluted than the outdoor air around it. Indoor pollution sources that release gases or particles into the air are the primary cause of air quality problems in homes. Inadequate ventilation can increase indoor pollutant levels by not bringing in enough outdoor air to dilute emissions from indoor sources and by not carrying indoor air pollutants out of the home.
It is important to ventilate properly and to keep secondhand smoke outside of the house,. Also, vacuuming and dusting regularly helps improve the quality of air inside the home. Since a bathroom can be the dampest area of a home, it’s important to ventilate inside bathroom during use and to dry damp surfaces to prevent mold.
Not sure about your home’s air quality? Call Stashluk at 908-277-6200 to discuss our IAQ service solutions.

Taking Control of Home Energy Consumption
What if you could view in real time how much electricity your whole home is using? If you realized the amount of energy you were consuming, you may be able to manage it more efficiently. Studies show that monitoring energy output can save as much as 15% on electricity usage.
A groundbreaking, home energy monitor from PowerSave, called the Envi, can help you do just that. Stashluk is proud to offer the Envi to our customers and encourage everyone to take advantage of this revolutionary device.
The Envi's display features energy use in dollars and kilowatts and usage for the past day, week and month. Installation is simple; two sensors in your power panel and a wireless transmitter will send usage data directly to the display in real time.
Contact Stashluk at 908-277-6200 to find out more about the Envi or schedule an appointment to have one installed in your home.

What is the Right Size Heating/Cooling Unit for Your Home?
When it comes to your heating and air conditioning system, you probably know that newer models are more efficient. However, the system needs to be sized correctly for your home to enjoy all of the savings from improved energy efficiency. A system that is too small will not adequately heat the home during the cold winter season, or supply enough air conditioning in mid-summer. But, be careful of over-sizing, because systems that are too large do not operate efficiently and cost more to install and operate.
It’s important to check the “nameplate rating” of your home's existing cooling/heating system. The nameplate is a metal tag attached to the unit, that will tell you the maximum BTU per hour output, as well as other useful information. But, do not assume the existing unit is the right size. A full load (heat loss and heat gain) calculation should always be done on your home, especially if you believe that the insulation or windows of your home have been upgraded since the original heating or cooling. Contact Stashluk at 908-277-6200 to determine the proper size unit for your home and you will conserve energy, while saving on utility bills.

A “Green” Approach to Improving Your Home
The New Jersey Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program, sponsored by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities and the New Jersey Clean Energy Program, offers financial incentives on energy efficient improvement packages. The program is centered around a “whole house” approach. Rather than repairing one single problem, such as an old heating system or drafty window, the idea is to understand how improvements throughout your entire home can work together to obtain the best results.
An important goal of making “whole house” improvements is reduced energy waste. Less energy waste decreases the production of green house gasses, which positively affects the environment. For this reason, there are significant, financial incentives to the program -- the more energy efficient improvements packages installed, the greater the eligible incentive. Currently, the program is offering a 50% cash rebate (up to $10,000) and 0% interest loan if your estimated utility bill savings are 25% or greater. We encourage you to contact Stashluk at 908-277-6200 to set up a home evaluation. By taking advantage of this incredible program, you will achieve reduced energy waste, while positively impacting your budget.
